At Alternative Farm and Wellness we experiment in agroecology- a sustainable farming model that aims to strike a balance with nature; specializing in curated fibre products.

We take great pride in our animal husbandry practices and shear our animals ourselves- they often fall asleep during the process! After "skirting" (hand cleaning) the "blankets" (the fibre from the main body of the alpacas), we send it to be milled into yarn and rovings at Opulent Alpaca in Cape Breton. We've also recently partner with Old School Acres to incorporate her organic dyes - very excited to see what colourful magic she creates!

With our yarn, Will enjoys balancing his day job in construction/renovations (Will's Custom Building Solutions) with circular knitting in the evenings. Inspired by the beautifully soft and luxurious yarn,Vanessa has also picked up her crochet hook again.
